More PAM News

Hi folks – take a look at our new website at and constructive comments back to Mark Jensen please.  The new site should be more secure than the old one and Mark is happy to field questions / requests for content / functionality.  If you’re on Facebook you can check it out from Mark’s post there.

We should not lose sight of all the hard work that Dave Prout (our previous webmaster) did on our behalf.  Many thanks to Dave for designing and maintaining the site.

Sunday 1st July 2018. All day ride-out.

The plan for this ride-out has had to be modified following a very interesting practice ride. My planned lunch stop at Woolacombe could not deliver with seating or with bike parking and my planned homeward route has had to amended due to a major road closure. So here is the new title of this ride-out: NOT GOING TO WOOLACOMBE Meet at Costa Coffee Marshmills for 09:30 with full tanks; happy bladders and caffeine loaded. Depart 09:45 and head along Forder valley and up Novorossysk to the George Pub and join the A386 to Tavistock. We simply stay on this road  until we reach Sourton for a 10 minute comfort break before heading onto Dartington Crystal for our morning refreshments. Off we set and pick up the B3232 to Barnstaple.Here we will pick up the A39 for a couple of miles only  before taking a left over the Taw bridge. Exiting this bridge we take a left onto the A361 and follow it all the way to Trimstone where we will have lunch at Cook Island free house. The menu is varied and mid range priced. Our homeward journey is via the A3123 to Blackmoor Gate; Right onto the A399 to wend our way to South Molton.Our amended route means we take up the B3227 to Great Torrington. From here we will backtrack to Sourton and have afternoon refreshments and goodbyes at the Little Chef at Sourton. Overall mileage is approx 180 miles with average ride times of 1 to 1.5 hours. The roads may be average to some but have good opportunities for overtaking practice and playing with farm machinery! Hope to see you there. Marion Continue Reading

Alan Mansell writes: The next two months sees a surplus of Steves. Firstly June’s meeting when Steve Stewart will talk about ‘his’ journey from Tierra Del Fuego up the Americas. Having left the Army and nothing better to do…… Then in July we have two Steve’s from GT Motorcycles – One the joint owner and… Continue Reading
